Greetings from Rome, Italy! 🇮🇹 Today we had the privilege of touring around Rome, a beautiful city filled with culture, history, and amazing architecture. First, we got to see the magnitude of the colosseum and the surrounding arches and hills. A short walk away from the Roman Forum was the Mamartine Prison. I was in awe as I got to see and be in the same place where Paul was held for so long. I truly felt the Holy Spirit as I meditated on scripture found in 2 Timothy. We stood where Paul found great joy in suffering and remained a faithful servant of the Lord. He was prepared to face an awful end and even still he praised God in the midst of trial. We read 2 Timothy as a group on the steps near the cell and ended by singing “Amazing Grace” as a choir. The rest of the day was filled with beautiful other sights such as the first Baptist church in Rome and the Pantheon. We ended the day with full hearts and full stomachs from pizza and gelato! Praise the Lord, and pray for the team as we finish our last few concerts!❤️

This missions trip made me realize that while we are going from country to country, the people living in these places are just like they are from where I come from. There are cultural differences for sure, but we’re all people with the same basic needs and desires. Everywhere we go, prayer is our first and final protection. It opens the hearts of those we haven’t reached yet, and it strengthens us to do the work we may be too tired on our own to do. Being here has shown me that intentionality is what drives their mission for the gospel forward, and that it should be like that wherever we go.
