The cultural differences and language barriers do not pose any challenge when it comes to sharing our love for God through music. God has been so faithful when it comes to connecting us with the people. The days have been hard with the small amount of sleep, but God has given all of us energy to minister to people. The strength truly comes from the Lord. Yesterday, we had a concert in Terni… the audience was so amazed by the performance and engaged with the musicians. I was especially able to connect with one lady who spoke both Italian and Spanish. She was walking by to go to a wine festival since she’s the wife of the vineyard owner. While passing, she saw us… and she was so touched by the performance and our hearts. I was able to share the gospel with her. This trip has been physically hard due to its dietary limitations and demanding schedules—but God has been the source of my strength. Loving on other believers and sharing the gospel has been worth it all.

A standout moment of our day in Terni, Italy, was the lunch we shared at Bencistó Bistrot, a small restaurant off the main street downtown. It was here that we had what is arguably the “best pasta of our lives”. The combination of textures, fresh flavors, and presentation satisfied every expectation for authentic Italian pasta. This meal we shared reminds me of many similar moments on this trip. Whether sharing meals of extravagant generosity or simple provision, each “breaking of bread” represents a time of shared fellowship and circumstances. In Europe, more so than in the States, meals are a time to share yourself with others and show care through service. At many churches, though few conversations could be shared, the sacrificial giving of food to strengthen and thank us expressed more than words could explain. The impact of these seemingly insignificant moments was seen even while we were still in Terni. While sharing a meal at a local restaurant on Thursday night, we met a waitress named Evita. Having learned English from movies and personal interest, she helped us communicate and feel welcomed. She enjoyed our time together so much that she made it out to our concert even after a busy few days. Though we do not know what she will do with the truth of the Gospel, we do know she was drawn in by our testimony and was connected with the believers in Terni. Please pray for Evita and all those that attended the concert in Terni, Italy.
