What an exciting start to our journey! After an early flight to Boston, we coordinated nearly 40 travelers heading to Barcelona. Despite little sleep, we picked up vans and drove over an hour to Camp Ebenezer. Following lunch, we rehearsed under Abby King before performing that afternoon in Besalú. Many gathered as we sang songs of hope and Pastor Vacarcel shared the gospel; Bibles were given, and seeds of faith were planted—lives, perhaps, forever changed

On the first day, bright and early, we flew in to Barcelona, Spain and were greeted by Pastor Josh Valcárcel. He took us to Camp Ebenezer, our home base for the majority of the trip. We ate a quick lunch then it was right into rehearsals! That evening we made our way to the location for our very first concert, Bésalo; a beautiful and historic town that charmed us instantly. Our concert was outdoors, in a plaza right beside the Monastery of St. Peter. As the concert went on, almost every seat was filled! As the sun set, we sang of God’s love, power, and grace to the people of Bésalo. After we finished the concert, many people lingered to talk. Two women spoke to Pastor Valcárcel about how the timing of the concert was a blessing as they were currently dealing with hardships in their lives. God has shown on day one how He supplies strength and joy through singing.

I really enjoyed sightseeing in Barcelona today! We started with a great devotional from Pastor Josh, then saw the incredible Sagrada Familia! The spires and intricate detail was incredible to see. We then went sightseeing in downtown Barcelona, and it was so cool to see all the stores! They were so different from the ones in America, and it was really cool! I’ve enjoyed being in Europe so far, and look forward to what God is going to do in the upcoming weeks!
